DIY Garden Row Markers

The Farmer and I recently planted a garden! You can read all about the installation here. After planting, I wanted to make some garden row markers, so Josh brought home some of these plain, wooden stakes that worked perfectly! I couldn't find the exact stakes we used, but these on Amazon look very similar.

Supplies:
-wooden stakes
-black paint (any kind would work, but spray paint is easiest)
-white paint pen
-clear, matte finishing spray

After making a set for myself, I thought they would make the perfect Mother's Day gift for my mom and mother in law--they both plant beautiful gardens and herbs!

They started as plain, wooden stakes--then I painted them with black, chalkboard spray paint.

I wrote on each one, then sprayed them with a heavy coat of this Krylon matte finish spray.

Finally, I tied up the set with a pretty ribbon, and they were ready to go!

Check out how cute they look in my mom's garden!

They were so fun and easy to make! And just think of the possibilities:

-Use them in bowls or dishes to label food at a shower, party, or outdoor picnic
-Use them to label flower pots
-Write a last name and include it as a gift tag for a wedding or house warming gift
-Use them to label bath salts or sugar scrubs at a spa night
-Use them to label anything at a garden party or spring wedding!

So here's the thing! I'm doing a giveaway for one set of 5 stakes (totally customizable--you tell me what you'd like written on them!). It's very simple to enter the giveaway, just follow these steps:

1. Like my page on Facebook (Grace & Peace Hand Lettering) and share the post about the giveaway OR  Follow me on Instagram (graceandpeacelettering) and like the photo about the giveaway

3. Comment on either post (Facebook or Instagram) how you plan to use the set of 5 stakes!

4. For extra entries, comment on this blog post, too!

grace & peace
