Welcome to Grace & Peace

Hi, everyone! The last time I had a blog I was starting my teaching career and my last name was different! A lot can happen in five or six years.

I started my very first blog when I was a junior in college--I needed a creative outlet and a place to keep track of all of my handmade projects! I stopped the blog once I began my first year of teaching middle school (first year teaching is no joke!), but now that I have a few years under my belt, I, once again, crave a place to write about my love for DIY projects, home decor, my first try at gardening, and my life with The Farmer.

For the first post on the new and improved G & P blog, I want to introduce myself and give you some idea of what's to come!

My name is Mairin and this is my sweet husband, Josh. I call him The Farmer--he's currently working on Master's in Agronomy.

We were married in 2017 on a very cold day in May. You'd never know it from the pictures because our photography was amazing! I will *shamelessly* be sharing a post on all things wedding, don't you worry!

Josh proposed to me under this big, old oak tree, in a beautiful pasture. This place is so special to us--and trees were kind of a "theme" in our wedding! And we definitely had to snap some engagement pictures beneath it! Again...amazing photographer!

I have a little business (Grace & Peace Hand Lettering) where I create hand lettered (no tracing here!) signs for folks! Since I do hand letter,  I've been able to write on all sorts of things--vintage suit cases, pieces of furniture, and windows! And I'm teaching my first hand lettering class to some middle school students starting soon! Below are a sampling of some projects I've done!

Although my husband and I currently live in an apartment, we are able to plant our first garden this year at his parents' place. I can not WAIT to start that project, and I will be sure to document all of it! Here are my plans!

I hope this little corner of the blog world provides some inspiration. I can't wait to get started!

Thanks for reading--

grace & peace,
Mairin
